  • Happy Happy!

Happy Holidays from the MonkeyGnomes (thanks to Bekah for leading us to such merriment)!

Ok, so it's been something like seven months since I've chimed in. It's not for lack of intention (I've got several half-written posts still stored up in my private posting). These days, a large chunk of time at the computer is rare. Very rare. Our little Bump turned 1 on the 2nd. ONE! She is walking (running!) and trying to talk (oh, she has the sweetest little voice), dancing (!), climbing anything and everything, eating many new grown-up foods, laughing at the right moments at jokes, making her own jokes (her timing is impeccable), and driving around a lot (it started with the Stride-to-Ride, which was fun, but killing our backs, and then we got the Push Buggy¹ for her birthday and she LOVES it). I couldn't even begin to list all the wonderful marvels she's revealed to us in the past year, but I will post a few pics for you few readers who I may still have...

    She's practicing the cell-phone-driving skills.

See the walking? And with balloons!

The eating of the birthday cake. With much glee in squishing.

In other news, we MonkeyGnomes have relocated ourselves further up the eastern part of the country. We're missing our pals in South Carolina (miss you guys!! hugs! you know who you are!), as well as our house (which is for sale, so if you know of someone in need of a fab house with a fab pool, let me know, will you?), as well as the warm weather (we heard it was near 80 this week). We are in central New York, lavishing ourselves with lots of snow. Hmmm.

At least it looks pretty for the holidays:

Ok, I will try to make it less drought-like with coming posts. Maybe more small ones. Or something.

I probably will not make another peep till the holidays are over....hope you all have a wonderful Christmas/Hanukkah/hanging out in the winter air. Take good care! Will try making my regular blog-read rounds soon. Happy Happy!!

SOOOO good to hear from you! Glad all is well, and hooray for walking/talking/moving a mile a minute babies! Our little December joy has a birthday coming up in a couple weeks...can you believe it's been a year already? I have meant to email you for the past several months, but you know how that goes. It's so much easier just to leave a comment here and say "hello" and you have been in my thoughts.

    Have a wonderful Christmas!

    xoxo

Hi hi hi! I was just thinking about you last week. I was wondering where you have been! Thanks for the update! Your daughter is so cute and your house looks beautiful! I'm a central california girl and 30 degrees is the North Pole to me, but snow sure looks great! I'm glad all is well! Happy Holidays!

RYC: the sleeping thing has lately become quite a challenge for a number of reasons. It seemed to help him settle in his crib when I put something of ours in there. I put his dad's pillow in there (I know, I know SIDS!!!) but he fell asleep sprawled across it. Sometimes he doesn't need it, but if he is having a hard time settling down, I put something in there that smells like one of us, and that often seems to help. I think they get used to having that when they cosleep. Even if mom & dad aren't in bed, it still smells like them, ya know? But anyway, yes, it hasn't been exactly easy, so I can sympathize!

Thanks for posting again and thanks for the encouraging comment on my site!  I can't believe Quynh is 1!  It is so nice to see some recent pictures of her.

Ohhh I clicked in right at the right time.  I saw all your pics on flickr, so that prompted me to come back for a looksee...  What a little doll-baby you have on your hands there.  What a true joy.

Central NY...  a bit different I'm sure.  My hubby is from WAY upstate, Plattsburgh...  He doesn't miss it in the winter times at all.  He says he shovled enough his whole life.  But the summer's are gorgeous and I can attest to that.  Lake Placid, Lake George, Lake Champlain and Burlington are divine in July...

Happy Holidays and thanks for popping in!!

Your new home is so sweet, I love seeing your tree all lit up through the window. It looks so warm and cozy inside...
